It is a beautiful morning,  just before noon. The sun is up, shining, lighting up the sky. And the sky with it’s pride doesn’t shy away from flaunting its beauty, the clouds form and the birds gracefully fly across them.

The sun is courteous today. It delivers its warm without the heat that pierces the skin.

The wind blows. Lightly and softly, steadily carrying with it stray leaves from the ground and calling others from their branches to join in the dance.

Up, down… side then round.  You wonder  what is their song as you wish you could dance with them, move freely following the wind with the faith that it would take you to the place you were meant to be.

Firm but gentle

Then you feel a hand on your shoulder. Firm but gentle. It stirs you up inside but you do your best not to show it. You don’t wanna give away your true self just yet.

You wait. Slowly and kind  of doubtliy it begins to move.

You reach out and assure (hold) it. It is familiar.

It is touch which is the deadliest enemy of chastity, loyalty, monogamy, gentility with its codes and conventions and  restraints. By touch we are betrayed and betray…..

 -Wallace Stegner

It tries to get you to move, you hesitate

You’ve been down this road before, uncertainty, fear, confusion, self dout, ocassional anger, loneliness, passion, adventure, laughter, happiness, connection and even love.

The sun begins to loose its affection and its rays begin to burn, the leaves aren’t dancing anymore but battling to be left alone from the unforgiving wind. The birds fly in fear, the clouds darken.

You wonder if the hand had tried to save you from this storm.

You hold strongly to it for assuarance of safety but non is forthcoming. You try to grab on to it to give you hope that the storm shall pass but like a lifeless log it just stands there, emotionless.

Hurt and broken, you let go.

Man had failed you. He couldn’t save you from the woes of your heart.

O what peace we often forfeit, O what needles pain we bear. All because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer!

You need a more eternal life line. One that speaks not only to your physical but mainly to your spiritual. One where your soul shall delight in for all the days of your life.

Where you’ll find rest in

The Knowledge of The Almighty

The Comfort of His Sovreignity

The Guarantee of His Perfect Justice

  1. Wow..i skipped church this passed Sunday (i’m totally remorseful) but having read this piece has sent me a strong message that the only true solace we can ever that will never let us down or betray us…is solace in God. Thanks for reminding me that.
